COVID19 - General Guidance for 校外研究

Whitman College 校外研究 (OCS) remains committed to assisting our students in pursuing global education. At the same time, student health and safety is a top priority for us. 因此, Whitman will cancel future off-campus studies if the health and safety risk is considered too high (based on US Department of State, Centers for Disease Control, and other official guidance) or if Whitman deems the educational experience off campus to be too compromised due to the pandemic. Students who wish to study off campus in spring 2021 and beyond should be aware that the pandemic has created a situation in which there are higher health risks, 金融风险, and potential for a disrupted semester. Whitman OCS is monitoring the situation closely and will do our best to inform students about possible issues related to COVID19 whenever we can, so that students and families can plan accordingly. For the latest news on Whitman OCS policies related to 新型冠状病毒肺炎, please see our 新型冠状病毒肺炎页面.

Developing intercultural skills and global understanding for a lifetime of leadership

Welcome to Whitman 校外研究!

We believe that immersion into other cultures and academic viewpoints afforded by study abroad or study in a different US community is an invaluable component of an undergraduate education—leading to significant academic and personal growth, development of intercultural communication skills, and a greater understanding of the range of professional and personal possibilities.

We encourage all Whitman students to take advantage of the broad range of off-campus study opportunities available through Whitman—semester, 学年, short-term faculty-led, and summer—as part of their undergraduate education. 为实现这一目标, the college strives to reduce financial barriers by providing need-based aid and merit scholarships to eligible participants.
